The same person must sign the dancer in and out unless prior arrangements are made with Miss Donna.

What should I pack in my child's bag for the rehearsal/recital?

In a large (shopping bag is recommended) bag, clearly labeled with your dancer's name, you should include the following:

-Dance Shoes
-Costume Accessories
-Water
-Mess Free Snacks
-Smock/ Oversized Button Down Shirt
-Extra Bobby Pins & Safety Pins

-Recital T-shirt

Dancers should arrive to Tech Rehearsal & Recital dressed in their first costume, with hair and makeup complete.

Does hair and makeup need to be done a certain way for the rehearsal/recital?

Hair: All Junior & Teen level Ballet classes are required to have their hair in a bun for the Recital. All other dancers may wear their hair how they would like, however, it must be pulled back away from the face as to not cause a distraction while dancing.

Makeup: Stage makeup is required for all performers due to the stage lighting that is used in a theater. Makeup is used to enhance a dancer's features under the bright lights and allow the audience to see their expression better. Blush, Eyeshadow and Lipstick are required. All other stage makeup is recommended but not required.

Are parents and other guests allowed backstage during the rehearsal/recital?

For the safety and security of all involved, we only allow approved recital helpers in the backstage area. If you would like to volunteer to be a recital helper, please let us know as soon as possible. All helpers are required to be present for both the Tech Rehearsal and Recital. Thank you for your help!

Can I take pictures/videos or livestream during the recital?

Pictures: No pictures, please. It is distracting to those on stage and around you. Enjoy the moment and give the dancers all of your attention while they are on stage.

Video: No videos, please. All dancers will receive a digital download of the recital video! A link to the videos will be shared with families this summer once the footage is completed.

Livestreaming: No livestreaming, please. For the safety of all involved, we do not allow livestreaming of the recital. If you'd like to share the performances with friends and family that are long-distance, you may share the video with them once available.

What time does the recital end?

The recital should end by 6:00pm.

Do I need to purchase a ticket for my child that is performing?

No, you do not. They will not need a seat because they will be backstage for the duration of the show.

Can we purchase tickets at the door?

Yes, tickets are available at the door for $55, cash only.

Where can I download the Recital Music?

You can find your dancer’s recital song(s) in your Parent Portal under “Documents”. Once logged into your account, find class documents. There, you will find a place there to download the song. Listening to your recital song in the car and at home helps excite and encourage your dancer to enjoy practicing more in class. Listening to the song and practicing the dance will help your dancer shine and feel confident on stage!
